CARE FOR THE SICK
February's Corporal Work of Mercy
The three traditional practices of Lent are PRAYER, FASTING, and ALMSGIVING. Almsgiving isn't just about giving money to our favorite helping organizations like Catholic Relief Services (though that is VERY important), but it also includes giving of our time through heart-felt acts of mercy. Perhaps one of these ideas might inspire you as to how you might CARE FOR THE SICK this week:
1. CANCER SERVICES OF MIDLAND: "Proudly providing personal & compassionate support to cancer patients & caregivers since 1948." There are many ways to reach out and support those who are struggling with the impact that cancer is having on their lives. Find out how to volunteer here: https://cancerservicesmidland.org/
2. Make a meal for someone who is sick or for someone who is a caregiver of someone who is chronically ill or if you aren't "kitchen confident" have a meal delivered.
3. Volunteer to make a grocery run for someone who is feeling under the weather or is struggling with a chronic condition.
