I just love this time of year in our church, because it's just one special celebration after another! This weekend's special day is...
TRINITY SUNDAY!
Today, we celebrate the Holy Trinity! The word "Trinity" means "three," the three Persons of God: the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit! For centuries, people have tried to figure out how God can be one God and yet three Persons. It's a mystery that no one has been able to fully understand or explain. Some teachers of our church (including St. Patrick!) have used objects in the world to help us understand a little bit of what it means to be Trinity, one God with three Persons. Check out this little one-minute video for a few of them:
I love figuring out new words, and that word at the very end of this video is a great one: "Triune." "Tri" means three, and "une" means one, so "triune" means "three in one!" And what did we just learn is "three in one?" Our awesome God, that's what!
If you have a spare minute during this busy Memorial Day weekend, slice open an apple, pour yourself a glass of ice water, go on a shamrock hunt (or just draw one!) and think about the Holy Trinity: one God, three Persons: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit!
Happy Trinity Sunday, all you Faith Formation families!
VBS Registration & Donations!
We need a "boxcar load" of supplies to keep VBS "on the rails!" Click here to link to our Signup Genius and help us out! There are only a few items left that we need!
Here's a song from the Rocky Railway playlist that might be a little familiar! It's a favorite from VBS Everest a few years ago! Get up and get moving with the "Power Shuffle!"
First Communion Season Begins!
At regular Sunday mass times during the last weekend of May, June, July, and August, several of our Blessed Sacrament kids will be celebrating their First Communion! Join me in praying that the joy of their First Communion Day will continue through every Eucharist of their lives!
A Taste of Summer!
A Taste of Summer is NEXT WEEK, June 6!! I hope to see you on the trail or at Cottage Creamery!
Peace,
Corinne
