Caution: Love at Work!

We've got an exciting family activity for the entire parish to participate in on Sunday for our Faith Formation Kick-Off! We're sending you out to do an Acts of Mercy Blitz on Midland by doing one act of mercy for each of the 7 Corporal Works of Mercy! Use the flyer below to get some ideas and keep track of your progress, but leave room for the promptings of the Holy Spirit too! If you have your own ideas or feel called to spend the whole afternoon doing one big project instead of 7 small ones, go for it!

Don't forget to share how you are spreading the love on the Blessed Sacrament Facebook page through pictures, videos, or comments! We may not be able to do this event together physically, but we are doing it together virtually! So share away!

Intro YM Lesson for You and Your Middle Schooler!

Click on the image below (or here) to view the lesson that will introduce your middle schooler to what virtual Youth Ministry will look like for the next couple of months! I encourage you to go through this lesson with your child, so that you are familiar with what the lessons will look like as well. For future lessons, you won't need to participate along with your child (unless you want to!).

This lesson also gives an overview of the Corporal Works of Mercy and Catholic Social Teaching, so it's actually pretty important to begin with this lesson! Also, the key chain materials that your middle schooler received in the first Faith Formation package will be used in this lesson!

Faith Formation Packets

You should have received a package by now with all the materials your middle schooler (or any of your children!) will need to participate in the activities that are sprinkled throughout the virtual lessons for this Sunday and the month of October! If you did not receive a package or if any of the information was incorrect, please contact the Faith Formation office at 835-6777 or lorraineb@blessed-midland.org. We'll correct your information and, if necessary, get a new package out to you right away!

October 4

CROP Walk

This year's CROP Walk is virtual! After Mass on October 4, everyone is invited to join us as we walk the big block around church to show support for ending hunger in our community. (If you don’t feel comfortable walking with us, consider taking a walk around your block with a friend or with your family.) After the walk, the Knights of Columbus will be hosting a hot dog lunch. Sock Collection

Our Corporal Work of Mercy for the month of October is Clothe the Naked, so we will be collecting socks for local homeless shelters. You can drop them off to the parish center any time the week of the 4th.

VBS 2020

Sharing Tree Tag Tying Service Opportunity

After Mass on October 18, we're asking parishioners to help tie the tags that will be used for the Sharing Tree program in Midland. Blessed Sacrament has committed to tying 2,000 tags! Can you help us out by tying some after Mass?

Baby Update!

Baby Sellnow has FINALLY arrived! Nora Lucille was born yesterday (Sep. 24)! Both mom and baby are healthy and happy! Thank you for your prayers!!

Christine will be on maternity leave through mid-November. If you need anything during that time, please contact the Faith Formation office at 835-6777. You will continue to receive Flocknotes and YM lessons as normal while Christine is away! :)
